Aladdin is a hit at the box office. The live-action remake of the Disney classic, starring Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott and Will Smith received mixed reviews from critics but was souped up by audiences.

Over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, it pulled in $112.7 million, becoming the fifth-highest total in history for the holiday weekend, passing X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014.

The film exceeded forecast predictions, which thought it would get around $75-80 million over the weekend. Fresh off the news that a John Wick 4 is coming, the Keanu Reeves and Halle Berry-led John Wick 3 holds down the second place, with $31 million for a total of $107 million.

Booksmart, the coming-of-age comedy from United Artists Releasing and Annapurna, opened with $8.7 million.
