All American star Michael Evans Behling joined Shadow And Act’s Trey Mangum for the Opening Act podcast to talk about his role as Jordan Baker and what it’s been like to be part of a CW phenomenon.
Behling revealed that when he first started out, he was hesitant about moving to Los Angeles until he took a small role on Empire.
“I think it prepared in a way that I got to experience a network set…for the first time. But I think it prepared me more for my move to Los Angeles,” he said. “I was in no way shape or form ready to move to Los Angeles or even try to move to Los Angeles. I was just in the market I was in.”
He said after his episode aired, his manager got the ball rolling on his ascent to Hollywood.
“After [Behling’s Empire episode] aired, my manager, who I’m still with, he contacted my agent…and he was like ‘I want him in Los Angeles by the beginning of 2018,'” he said. “And we made it happen and from there on, I auditioned for Jordan on Valentine’s Day of 2018 and now we’re here.”
