Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant and Louisana State University national champ Angel Reese met up to celebrate the recent Tigers’ win in a TikTok “hitting the griddy” to a viral sound of Morant quoting NBA YoungBoy, a favorite artist of his, from his song “Fresh Prince of Utah.”

From the explosive media response to her trash-talking Iowa star Caitlin Clark to rejecting the apology and invitation of first lady Jill Biden, the Bayou Barbie — as Reese has been dubbed — was unfazed as she and Morant laughed and danced to the TikTok trend “Issa parade inside my city,” on the heels of Reese rejecting rumors she was dating NBA YoungBoy just last month.

The Lady Tiger and star forward Angel Reese has dominated headlines since coming off a winning season that ended with a national championship win against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Unlike Morant, much of the media controversy surrounding Reese was unwarranted.

Last month, the Grizzlies star came under fire for posting a video flashing a gun inside a nightclub, resulting in an eight-game suspension for “conduct detrimental to the league.” Morant didn’t suit up for this game either but was in New Orleans with the Grizzlies as they went up against the Pelicans at Smoothie King Center the night before, about an hour from LSU.

The pair seemingly filmed the TikTok on campus, where the LSU championship parade ended at the Maravich Center. Reese retweeted the video, where she wrote, “10 white toes in my Tory flip flops,” a lyric from Saweetie’s song, “ICY GRL.”

The newly crowned queen of women’s college basketball is celebrating her victory as Morant, well-known as one of the best players in the NBA himself, is set to strive for one with his fellow Grizzlies at the playoffs beginning April 15.

But this collaboration took fans pleasantly by surprise and finally put the much-talked-about basketball stars on the more positive end of the news cycle after weeks of heavy media criticism. Hoping the controversy surrounding the duo is behind them, we’ll be sure to watch out for more content from these two, as fans are loving it.
