Ashton Sanders and Jeffrey Wright have been tapped to star in a new Netflix film helmed by Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole. He will direct and write the film.

Production will begin on July 30.

Moonlight star Sanders can be seen this weekend in The Equalizer 2, and Wright is coming off of a new season of Westworld, for which he is nominated for another Emmy.

The subject matter for this film is similar to recent/upcoming projects for both, as Sanders will star in A24’s adaptation of Native Son and Wright also stars in the adaptation of Walter Dean Myers’ Monster, which premiered at Sundance.

The description reads: The title refers to an unending, relentless prison stretch, and Sanders plays Jah, a young man who committed a homicide and is facing just that. The drama is seen through his point of view, as he deals with the repercussions of his actions.

Cole continues his relationship with Netflix, where he is also producing an adaptation of Vault Comics’ Failsafewhich could star Michael B. Jordan.
