BET Networks has announced a Season 2 renewal for the comedy series Bigger at its streaming service, BET+
Bigger, set in the East Atlanta neighborhood of Little Five Points, stars Tanisha Long, Angell Conwell, Rasheda Crockett, Chase Anthony and Tristen Winger. The series was created by Felischa Marye and is executive produced by Will Packer and Devon Shepard, who is the showrunner. The show follows a single Black woman (Long) who is dealing with the threat of marriage to a boring in bed boyfriend and the sudden, random death of a college acquaintance. The tragedy drives her ambitious group of friends to take a deeper look at their stagnant lives, asking themselves—is there something bigger and better in life?
“I’m so proud of this show! And I can’t wait for new audiences to follow the shenanigans of this wild and crazy group of Black 30-somethings. Buckle up for Season 2,” said Packer.
“We are excited and proud to bring the Bigger squad back for another run. Will and Felischa have been tremendous partners and we can’t wait to dive deeper into the hilarious and complicated lives of Layne and her group of friends” said Devin Griffin, General Manager, BET+. “Our commitment to premium content continues with this series. Fans embraced the show because it’s real and fresh, and provides a new way for Black viewers to see themselves in original Black stories on screen.”
Marye and Long recently appeared on Shadow And act’s Rewind the Scene to break down a moment from one of the episodes.
In the scene discussed, Long’s character Layne is cheating on her fiance Greg (Warren Burke) with Reggie (Terrence Terrell), who is texting her obscene pictures of a particular body part.
