Emmy-winning Pose star Billy Porter is in talks to join Camila Cabello in the upcoming reimagining of Cinderella at Sony.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who first broke the news, sources say Porter would play “movie musical’s resident fairy godmother.”
Blockers director Kay Cannon is both writing the script and directing. James Corden came up with the idea for the project and is producing it.
Though the plot of the film is not entirely known right now, it is said to be a reimagining of the fairy tale.
Aside from the original animated film from 1950, there have been two live-action remakes of the classic tale: the television film starring Brandy and Whitney Houston and the 2015 film starring Lily James and directed by Kenneth Branagh.
