The first trailer for Burden, starring Forest Whitaker, Usher Raymond and Garrett Hedlund, has been released.

Based on a true story, the film written and directed by Andrew Heckler follows Mike Burden (Hedlund), an orphan who was raised by the leader of a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan (Tom Wilkinson). When he falls in love with a single mother (Andrea Riseborough), she is able to convince him to change his ways and leave the Klan.

Whitaker plays Reverend Kennedy, a pastor of a church congregation who houses Burden, his girlfriend and her son after the Klan starts coming after them. Through Kennedy, Mike is introduced to a new world of acceptance and redemption. Usher will play a character named Clarence Brooks.

Burden will come to select theaters on February 28, 2020.
