The trailer for Fox’s new sitcom Call Me Kat, starring Mayim Bialik and Kyla Pratt, has been released.
Based on the UK series Miranda, Call Me Kat will premiere Jan. 3 and stars Bialik as a 39-year-old single woman who has spent her life savings to open up her dream cat café. According to Fox:
“Call Me Kat stars Bialik as a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can still live a happy and fulfilling life despite still being single at 39. Which is why she recently spent her entire savings to open a cat café in Louisville, Kentucky. It was expected of KAT (Bialik) to be married with kids by now, but for many reasons, she’s still single – and totally fine with it.”
Pratt stars as Randi, described as “a confident millennial and self-proclaimed ‘non’ cat person.” Her casting was announced earlier this February.
Also starring in the series is Cheyenne Jackson as Kat’s friend and former crush Max, who moves back to town and becomes a bartender at the piano bar across from Kat’s cat café. Julian Grant also stars as Max’s friend and co-worker Carter, Leslie Jordan as Kat’s co-worker Phil, and Swoosie Kurtz as Kat’s mother Sheila.
