
Zoe Saldana will star in an adaptation of the graphic novel, “I Kill Giants,” by Joe Kelly, which will be produced by Chris Columbus, and will be directed by Anders Walter (his feature film debut).
Saldana will co-star with Madison Wolfe in a story about a young misfit girl (played by Wolfe) battling both real and imaginary monsters in her life. Saldana is attached to play the psychologist at the school the girl attends, said to be a key role, as she helps the young girl face both internal and external threats, as the pair forms a bond.
The creator of the graphic novel, Joe Kelly, is adapting it to screenplay format.
Christopher Columbus is producing through his 1492 Pictures/Ocean Blue Entertainment, along with Justin Nappi of Treehouse Pictures, Kim Magnusson and Man of Action Entertainment and XYZ Films.
International film group UMedia is on board to finance along with London-based Ingenious Media.
An August production start date is eyed.
Saldana is currently filming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” which is due out next year. After that, she’s booked for 3 “Avatar” sequels.
