At its upfront on Wednesday, Hulu unveiled a new look at Castle Rock.
In February 2016, Hulu announced the partnership with J.J. Abrams and Stephen King to create another limited series based on one of King’s works (the trio previously collaborated on the time-travel thriller 11/22/63 last year, which is currently streaming on Hulu for subscribers).
The series, a psychological-horror, is named after the fictional town in King’s native Maine which has served as the setting for a number of his novels, novellas and short stories. The series will explore the themes and worlds uniting King’s entire canon, while incorporating some of his most iconic and beloved stories.
André Holland toplines the series, playing Henry, a death row attorney with a unique and complicated history in Castle Rock, Maine. It also stars Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Scott Glenn and Terry O’Quinn. Chosen Jacobs recurs as Holland’s son.
Hulu has a 10-episode order for the series. A premiere date was also revealed on Wednesday: July 25.
