Chris Redd has joined Saturday Night Live for its upcoming season as a featured player.

Heidi Gardner and Luke Null are also joining Redd. This brings the cast back up to full capacity after the exits of Jay Pharoah, Sasheer Zamata, Vanessa Bayer and Bobby Moynihan.

Redd has notably been featured in the films Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie. He also stars in the Netflix comedy, Disjointed, and recently appeared in the film Fat Camp with Vivica Fox.

According to Deadline, Redd was an “early favorite for a spot on the show” though he was a regular on Disjointed. 

One of the show’s seven new writers is comedian Sam Jay.
