Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara are FBI agents grappling with the advent of artificial intelligence in the upcoming Hulu limited series, Class of ’09.
The eight-episode limited series premieres with two episodes on May 10.
Created and written by Tom Rob Smith, Class of ’09 is set among three different points in the career of a class of FBI agents as they come to terms with the effects artificial intelligence has on the criminal justice system. According to the description:
Class of ’09 is a suspense thriller limited series that follows a class of FBI agents set in three distinct points in time who grapple with immense changes as the U.S. criminal justice system is altered by artificial intelligence. Spanning multiple decades and told across interweaving timelines, the series examines the nature of justice, humanity and the choices we make that ultimately define our lives and legacy.
Henry plays Tayo, described as “one of the most unorthodox agents to ever join the bureau,” opposite Mara, who plays Poet, “one of the most successful undercover agents of all time.” The rest of the cast includes Sepideh Moafi, Brian J. Smith, Jon Jon Briones, Brooke Smith, Jake McDorman and Rosalind Eleazar.
The series is executive produced by Smith alongside Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Zanne Devine, Jessica Levin and Joe Robert Cole. The series is produced via FX Productions.
