While a guest on the We In Miami podcast, Benzino opened up about being called a “deadbeat dad” by his daughter Coi Leray. In a clip shared online, Benzino revealed his pain about the title his daughter has given him while crying and admitting his love for her is far more profound than she knows.

âI went through a lot, man,â and it was hard for me to be looked upon â like Iâve been called all kinds of sh*t, but a deadbeat dad? Come on, man,â he said, crying. âI love my daughter. I donât want to be that. I donât want to be known as that. I donât care what people think, but that hurt me. Thatâs my daughter, I raised her. When people say I hate on Coiâs career and jealous and all this, that sh*t is like, man, itâs evil. Because my love is huge for that little girl, man, thatâs my little girl,â he added.
If you’re unfamiliar with the family drama, in 2022 Benzino mocked his daughter’s album sales publicly after news broke of her selling 11,000 units.
âIF SHE HAD TRACK WITH @IAMBENZINO I WOULDA LISTENED @COILERAY,â he wrote via his Instagram story.
After receiving backlash about “hating” on his daughter, he later made a statement claiming he was hacked, Vibe reported.

Benzino admitted that he was displeased with his actions behind the public online beef with Leray. Additionally, he added that the fallout with her was âone of the worst things Iâve been through in my life.”
“Iâve been through hell,” he said.
The conversation followed behind Benzino watching his daughter perform at Rolling Loud for the first time, calling the performance “surreal,” and applauding her unique stage presence.
âIâm just saying, sheâs amazing,â he said. âLike for real, no bullsh*t. I love her. Seeing her like that⌠You can say Iâm biased, but honestly, like, I donât see nobody else doing that. Sheâs amazing, man.â
