Cordae is letting it be known that he doesn’t plan on paying anyone’s college tuition anytime soon.
A viral video has recently begun circulating showing Cordae taking a moment to read a fan’s sign during a brief interlude at a Phoenix-based concert. Once the rapper realized the concertgoer was asking him to pay his college tuition, Cordae humorously shut down the hefty request.
“What does your sign say, ‘Pay my college tuition?’ N***a hell no, boy you thought I was Lil Uzi or something? S**t,” Cordae laughingly said.
As Cordae mentioned during the short interaction, this incident comes about two-and-a-half years after Lil Uzi Vert agreed to cover a fan’s $90,000 tuition. The Temple University student, Raheel Ahmad, memorably asked this bold question after running into the rapper at a Philadelphia-area mall, and the video of the interaction swiftly went viral.
“Make sure you show me all of your transcripts, everything. Show me all your papers and everything, and you can get $90,000 from me,” Lil Uzi Vert said in the clip.
Ahmad later invited Lil Uzi Vert to his Jan. 2022 college graduation, showing that the student held it down and ultimately earned a Political Science degree from the Philly-based university. However, the rapper did not attend the ceremony. Shortly after he graduated, Ahmad revealed that he was still waiting for Lil Uzi Vert to cover his tuition, as Blavity previously reported.
“@liluzivert I finally graduated bro; I told y’all I don’t bullsh*t. Can you now come thru “Ahmad wrote beneath his Instagram upload. “My 4 years at Temple University have come to an end! To all the fans/friends/family, and even fakes, I love you all! The lesson college taught me is that once you become fearless, life is limitless. Be optimistic, have courage, be creative…YOU ARE the artist, so make the world your canvas.”
