Confirming rumors that have been circulating for several months, Cynthia Bailey has revealed she is leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta after 12 seasons.
She wrote on Instagram:
After much thought and consideration, I have made the very difficult and heartfelt decision not to return for the next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Thank you NBC Universal, Bravo, and Truly Original for over a decade of partnership. I can’t wait to see what we do next!
Thank you to my Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates for eleven of the most unbelievable years of my life; and the most incredible & UNFORGETTABLE memories!
I am so grateful to have had this amazing journey, and I am anxiously waiting to embark on new adventures.
Most importantly, THANK YOU to my fans! I could not have done it without your blessings, love, and support. Without the fans, none of this would be possible. I love and appreciate all of you.
It’s time to move on to my next chapter, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you.
In an interview last December with S&A, Bailey talked about some of the show’s moments, including the storyline with her daughter, Noelle. “It was the best thing for her to do it on television,” Bailey says of Noelle’s coming out moment. “She could have been on campus, walking across the campus on a girl’s hand and someone snaps a picture and send it to a blog and that’s how the world finds out. It almost looks like we’re hiding it. I’m proud of her for doing what she did and she’s flourished since. She’s just a good kid and I’m excited for what’s to come for Noelle.”
So far, the rumor has it that Sheree Whitfield, Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton, Drew Sidora and Kenya Moore will be the peach holders for next season along with a new face.
