DaBaby has one less problem to deal with now that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has dropped a gun case that stems from Jan. 2021.
The L.A. District Attorney’s Office decided not to file a criminal complaint against the Charlotte native and rejected the gun charge due to the lack of evidence, TMZ reports.

DaBaby was arrested on Rodeo Drive while shopping last year. A security guard from the Gucci store noticed that DaBaby was carrying a gun in his waistband and alerted the police. After shopping at several stores, the rapper was then arrested. The arresting officers could not find the weapon initially but would eventually find the gun under a seat inside his entourage’s vehicle.
His attorney Drew Findling relayed that he has always been confident that the rapper was innocent of the incident and is grateful that the District Attorney’s office has reached the same conclusion.
“We’ve been 100% confident in Mr. Kirk’s innocence since the day of this incident and are appreciative that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has made a similar determination,” Findling said.
On Monday, DaBaby addressed the case dismissal on his Instagram Story.
“Told y’all that wasn’t my fye,” DaBaby wrote. “Now say sorry & give me & Roddy that Grammy we was supposed to win.”

DaBaby is still facing charges after his bowling alley brawl with Brandon Bills, the brother of his daughter’s mother, singer DaniLeigh. Although the evidence against the rapper is apparent in that case, TMZ’s law enforcement sources believe that the D.A. office is apprehensive in pursuing low-level crimes.
