A Dapper Dan biopic is in development from Sony and Jerrod Carmichael.
It is will be based on the iconic fashion guru’s upcoming memoir, set for release in 2019.
Jerod Carmichael is adapting it for the big screen and it is described as a “high-stakes coming-of-age story” set in Harlem.
Carmichael will produce with Josh Bratman of Immersive Pictures while Dapper Dan and Jelani Day, his son and brand manager will EP.
Dapper Dan styled hip-hop’s biggest stars in his iconic NYC store from Eric B. & Rakim, to Salt-N-Pepa, to P. Diddy, Aaliyah and many many more.
He recently inked a partnership with Gucci to relaunch his Harlem atelier this year.
