David Oyelowo’s soul stirring performance as Martin Luther King. Jr. in the Ava DuVernay-helmed civil rights drama Selma was one of the more surprising Oscar snubs in the recent memory, as many pundits argued that the actor was more than deserving of an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

However, the industry caught on, as Oyelowo’s role as MLK led to more acting opportunities in a variety of genres from thrillers to comedies. Now, Oyelowo is in early negotiations to star in the fantasy drama Come Away alongside Angelina Jolie.

Brenda Chapman, best known for helming the Pixar film Brave and The Prince Of Egypt, is set to direct the film from a script written by Marissa Kate Goodhill. Oyelowo and Jolie will play the parents of siblings who became the protagonists of Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. When their older brother is killed in a tragic accident, the sinblings embark on an adventure to save their parents from despairing over the losses — and are then forced to choose between home and imagination.
