DC’s upcoming online convention, DC FanDome, will feature over 300 special guests central to DC’s lineup of films, shows, comics and merchandise. The list includes stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Alfre Woodard, Storm Reid, Giancarlo Esposito, Meagan Good, Viola Davis, CCH Pounder, Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Javicia Leslie…the list goes on and on!

This convention is one to watch because it is poised to give us key insight into the development of The Suicide Squad reboot/sequel, including the role Elba will play in the film. We might also learn more about Black Adam from Johnson, who has been attached to the project for years. The new information about upcoming series and films will be released in the Hall of Heroes, the crown jewel of the FanDome.

DC FanDome will last a full 24 hours starting August 22 at 10 p.m. PDT and is billed as a “truly immersive, global virtual fan experience.” As the “first-ever global celebration of the DC Multiverse,” the FanDome will be accessible on nine different languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, Italian, French and Korean. The event will feature over 100 hours of programming and hosts from 13 countries, including Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Italy, America, South Africa, Spain, Philippines, and the UK.

One of the events planned for the day is a virtual “Blerd & Boujee” House, which will honor and uplift Black nerd (i.e. Blerd) culture. The “Blerd & Boujee” celebration will take place within WatchVerse, an immersive environment that puts participants in the heart of the FanDome’s theater district. WatchVerse will also give viewers a chance to watch panels, never-before-seen footage and exclusive world premieres.

Other areas of the FanDome include the YouVerse, where fans can upload cosplay photos, fan art and other user-generated content; the InsiderVerse, where DC artists divulge insider news on upcoming consumer products, theme park events, television, films and games, and the FunVerse, where viewers can read free comic books and buy collectibles and merchandise. The KidsVerse will be housed separately at DCKidsFanDome.com and will focus exclusively on younger DC fans. Kids can virtually visit the Teen Titans Tower and DC SuperHero Girls’ Sweet Justice Café, among other popular DC locales.

You can visit the main FanDome at DCFanDome.com.
