Danai Gurira and Denzel Washington are sharing the screen in Netflix’s upcoming heist film Here Comes the Flood.

Deadline reports that Gurira has been added to the film along with Moisés Arias, Sean Harris and Justin Kirk. Washington was previously announced as one of the film’s leads alongside Robert Pattinson and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

What do we know so far about the plot?

Here Comes the Flood is directed by Fernando Meirelles and written by Mr. & Mrs. Smith writer Simon Kinberg, who clearly knows a thing or two about making a great action-thriller. Described as an “unconventional heist thriller,” the film follows “a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief caught in a deadly game of cons and double crosses.”

Meirelles is set to produce as well as direct. Kinberg and Audrey Chon are also producing via Genre Films. Washington’s daughter, Katia Washington, will serve as executive producer with Samson Mucke.

Where is the new Denzel Washington movie being filmed?

The project is currently being filmed in New Jersey.

Here Comes the Flood was announced earlier this year at the same time as a new Netflix Jamie Foxx film, Fight for ’84. That project also had a slew of recent casting announcements, including Algee Smith, Xavier Mills and Mitchell Edwards.
