Emotions are going deep in the final season of Empire, where Terrence Howard gives his final bow as Luscious Lyon. Although he said he was retiring, it appears that Howard’s acting career shows no signs of slowing down.

In an exclusive report from Deadline, it has been revealed that Howard has been tapped to star alongside RJ Mitte in Brett Leonard’s feature Triumph, and will also executive produce the project alongside Mitte.

Triumph stars Mitte as an intelligent and determined teen with mild cerebral palsy who has aspirations of becoming a wrestler on his high school team, while also going to great lengths to win the heart of one of his classmates.

“I’m proud to be a part of this important film, Triumph, that highlights virtues such as sacrifice, perseverance, and the infinite strength of the human spirit; overcoming adversity while promoting anti-bullying, and inclusivity for young people with disabilities,” Howard said in a statement. “My family and I are honored to support the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation with this film.”

In September, Howard made headlines when he informed Extra special correspondent and Miss USA Cheslie Kryst that he is putting a stop to his acting career once Empire is over. Based on this latest round of news, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
