On January 19, 2017, Chicagoans will gather at The Harper Theater in Hyde Park for a screening of the documentary “Farewell, Obama,” produced by the Black Owned Chicago organization, which features the stories of people who walked with Pres. Obama from Chicago to The White House.

In the film, audiences will meet the people who met him when he was Senator Obama. The people who worked on his campaign in Chicago and D.C. The barber who cuts his hair. The owner of his favorite restaurant and more.

“On the night of Pres. Obama’s last day in office, there’s no place we’d rather celebrate than in Hyde Park with those who know him best,” said Tanikia Carpenter of Black Owned Chicago.

There will be a panel discussion and food immediately following the film.
