The upcoming feature film from the world of RuPaul’s Drag Race has found its cast.

Bleeker Street, World of Wonder and Universal Pictures Content Group announced that Drag Race alums Ginger Minj, Jujubee, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Latrice Royale, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Monét X Change and Symone will star alongside RuPaul in the first film from the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe.

Minj and Jujubee will play two friends who work as train stewardesses for Glamazonian Express. The friends find themselves in a situation that calls on them to save the train and its passengers.

What’s the plot of the upcoming film?

According to the official description:

The film follows best friends Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee), train stewardesses who trade their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express. When a catastrophic “Stormaganza” threatens to derail the high-speed train and crash it into Los Angeles, the duo in coach must join forces with the snobby first class attendants (Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, Marcia Marcia Marcia, Latrice Royale) and President Gagwell (RuPaul) to save the day in this wild ride of camp and comedy.

RuPaul will also executive produce alongside director Adam Shankman and World of Wonder’s Randy Barbato and Tom Campbell. Unapologetic Projects also executive produces and serves as financier. Connor Wright and Christina Friel serve as screenwriters.

When will the film be released?

The film will head to theaters in 2026.

When the project was announced in September, RuPaul and Shankman released statements about what the film means to them. RuPaul cheekily said that the role of President Judy Gagwell is “a role I can sink my dentures into.”

Shankman said that his friendship with RuPaul led to the film coming together, saying that their 30-year relationship allowed him to see what RuPaul and World of Wonder have done with drag up close.

“…I’ve watched him and the folks at World of Wonder help change culture writ large with Drag Race,” he said. “When they asked me to come aboard this hilarious and truly unhinged project, in a time so desperate for escapist entertainment and laughter, I couldn’t resist.”
