Bonjour, queens! Drag Race France, the latest international spin-off in the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, has announced its panel.
French drag queen and RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 star Nicky Doll will be the host, joined by resident judges, TV presenter Daphné Bürki and musician/French queer icon Kiddy Smile.
As the official description reads, “The trio will guide the dazzling French queens each week through a variety of gag-worthy challenges and runway categories. Based on their performances each episode, the judges will choose who wins and which two will have to lipsync for their lives to stay in the competition, for a chance to become France’s first drag superstar.”
Doll becomes the second RuPaul’s Drag Race alum to host an international franchise, following season 11’s Brooke Lynn Heights who hosts Canada’s Drag Race. Of note, Drag Race Holland season 1 winner as guest judged episodes of Drag Race Holland and Drag Race España.
In a statement received by S&A, Doll said, “I’m honored and thrilled to be the mistress of ceremonies of this emblematic show, which is going to revolutionize French drag and give prominence to incredible queer artists! So, start your engines, and may the best drag queen…win!”
Drag Race France will air on WOW Presents Press in the US and select territories worldwide, day and date with its local airing in France.
A premiere date has not been announced yet.
