Dulé Hill was part of Shadow And Act’s most recent Locked Down with ___ live Facebook Q&A on Thursday and gave a scoop on his upcoming role in the second season of Black Monday.
Hill will play Marcus Duane Wainwright III on the Showtime series, and he said he had a great time acting with cast members who are also his friends.
“I had a fun time playing this character on the show [and] hanging out with Regina Hall and Don Cheadle, who are both phenomenal artists and I’ve known them for a long time, so I’m really glad to be able to play with them on-screen,” he said, adding that he has been a huge fan of the “wild” and “wacky” series. “I was a big fan of the series during the first season, so when the opportunity came up for me to play a character on the second season, I jumped at it and it’s just as wacky, just as wild, as it was in season one,” he said.
Hill also divulged some of the series he’s been binge-watching while in lockdown. Hulu’s The Great, he said, was a show he didn’t think he would be interested in.
“I didn’t think I was going to like the show. I didn’t think it was going to be something up my alley,” he said. “But, you know, it’s pretty entertaining, I’m enjoying it.” He also said he has been enjoying Hulu’s Normal People, which he called “a really interesting show” and believes “the actors on there did phenomenal work.”
He also revealed that he’s been binge-reading, and one of the books is pertinent to these current times of protest, White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo.
“That is putting a lot of words to some of the thoughts and feelings that have been going on inside of my mind,” he said.
