Comedian Ego Nwodim is the newest cast member to join Saturday Night Live.
Nwodim, a cast regular of the UCB Theatre in Los Angeles, will become part of the 44th season of the long-running NBC sketch comedy show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The outlet also reports the show will add four new writers to its team: Alan Linic, Bowen Yang, Alison Gates and Eli Mandel.
Apart from her work at UCB, where she performed her one-woman show “Great Black Women…and Then There’s Me,” Nwodim has also starred in Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, Do You Want to See a Dead Body?, 2 Broke Girls, Liv and Maddie, K.C. Undercover, Living Biblically and the upcoming comedy film It’s A Party. She was also featured in online original series like CollegeHumor Originals and The Elite Daily Show.
Nwodim joins a cast that already includes Michael Che, Leslie Jones, Kenan Thompson and Chris Redd.
