The film follows Shani, an African elephant who migrates with her male child Jomo with their herd across Botswana’s Kalahari Desert.
An official press release for Elephant from Disney+ revealed that the elephants face “brutal heat, dwindling resources and persistent predators, as they follow in their ancestor’s footsteps on a quest to reach a lush, green paradise.” Elephant was co-directed by Mark Linfeld, Vanessa Berlowitz and Alastair Fothergill.
