Erica Banks is ruffling some feathers with her latest revelation about how she rolls when it comes to clubbing with friends.
The “Buss It” rapper, who has previously garnered numerous comparisons to Megan Thee Stallion, recently spoke on the subject on her Instagram Close Friends Story.
However, someone appears to have screen-recorded and leaked the video to the public, and many people felt some kind of way about what Banks had to say, as she proclaimed that she only allows her friends to hit the club with her if they have “a certain type of look.”
“If she don’t look how I want her to look, physically, I don’t want her to come because the look of everything is so important to me,” Banks unapologetically said in the leaked upload.
“If she ain’t thick enough, no. Hair not did good enough? Nope. Can’t dress? Nope. Skinny? Nope!” she laughingly continued.
The rapper proceeds to defend her stance and preemptively shut down any naysayers.
“It’s like, I don’t feel like I’m discriminating. I just want a certain type of look,” Banks adds. “She could be the sweetest girl I’ve ever met in my life, but if she don’t look the part, I don’t want her to come. It’s just not the vibe I’m on.”
“She can come to the cookout, she can come to the listening party, but the club? I feel like b****es gotta look a certain way to come,” she announced.

Banks swiftly began catching some backlash, with one The Neighborhood Talk commenter remarking, “Did your friends treat you this way pre-surgery? Ew energy so musty.”
“I hate how surgery and weaves have set the standard of beauty in our community,” another user wrote beneath the same post.
In response to the controversy, Banks jumped on Twitter and tried to set the record straight.
“Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion & I’ve never been one to convince people of liking mine,” she began before saying that her stance was in the name of staying true to her “brand.”
“My preference of who I club with when it comes to my brand has nothing to do with y’all. Y’all never liked me anyway so why would I care about what y’all think about anything I say?” she continued.

She also directly responded to a naysayer who said that the rapper should “humble herself” because she had plastic surgery in the past, writing, “A BBL doesn’t solidify who I am.”
I was still Erica Banks, dumb bitch. A BBL doesn’t solidify who I am & I can hangout with who I choose. https://t.co/kJUEm8ogve

Finally, Erica Banks clarified that she has nothing but love for skinny, non-thick women… she just doesn’t want to go out with them.
“I love my skinny/smaller women with a passion. Let’s not get it misconstrued. However, when I go to the CLUB, I want thick bitches shakin ass everywhere! That’s my vibe. There are even skinny women in my music videos, most handpicked by me, so stop it,” she tweeted.

So basically not necessarily “friends” just girls that are supposed to help your look.

However, Banks nonetheless received some support, which she reposted onto her Instagram Story.
She also thanked her followers for having her back.
