It is no secret that daughter Puma Curry resembles her mother, singer Erykah Badu. Badu posted new photos on Instagram sporting short haircuts and pouty red lips, reminding the internet of this.

Badu has two daughters, Puma Sabti Curry, who she shares with rapper The D.O.C., and Mars Merkaba Badu Electronica, with rapper Jay Electronica. Curry’s older brother, Seven, is the son of rap star Andre 3000 and Badu.

The trio collaborated on a video on TikTok that startled fans with their resemblance.

But it’s not just the physical attributes that Curry and her sister share with Badu — Curry is known for her singing skills, as seen in videos with or posted by her mother of Curry’s renditions of several R&B tunes.

Curry has also stacked her resume with modeling gigs, such as a Vogue Mexico photo shoot she did with Badu in 2017.

This isn’t the first time Badu and Curry have made headlines for their identical appearance, but not always to fans’ liking. The pair came under fire in January when Curry shared a photo of her and her mother’s rear ends in skintight pants on Instagram.

The viral carousal of photos attracted compliments from many stars commenting on the pair’s curvaceous figures. Others were after the fashion-statement pants they wore. But many social media users found the post distasteful and offensive, criticizing Badu for exploiting Puma’s sexuality with their provocative poses.

The divisive response made the post go viral, further attracting social media users’ attention across Instagram and Twitter.

Thankfully, the response didn’t affect the teen, who addressed the issue head-on in another post on Instagram.

“I posted a pic (not my mom) of me and my mama Badu in some cute, form-fitting pants. I’m an adult,” she wrote. “What’s the real issues? Let’s discuss.”

Badu shared Puma’s response to her IG Story, penning, “Case closed,” then shared the photo to her page.

“This the pic u posted got ’em uncomfortable,” Badu wrote. “Wait till y’all see our insides (heart, mind, spirit$).”

Clearly, neither she nor Curry was fazed by the internet tantrum over the pic. The pair seems more determined than ever to keep sharing their photos online, regardless of the response. And we hope they still do, as the internet enjoys seeing Badu and Curry’s twinning on the ‘gram.
