Fortnite, the popular online game that has taken Gen Z by storm, recently announced that two high-profile artists would soon be available via in-game skins: Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak of Silk Sonic.
Mars and .Paak are being introduced via Fortnite's Icon Series, featuring notable names like Marshmello, Major Lazer, and Travis Scott. The "Silk Sonic Set" will specifically become available in the in-game shop beginning Feb. 10, 2022.
However, fans will get the chance to win these skins—as well as other prizes—through the Duos Silk Sonic Cup, which is kicking off on Feb. 7. Specifics regarding the tournament's rules are available online.
Coinciding with this news is the announcement of Icon Radio, an in-game feature that will allow players to bump hits from Silk Sonic while playing Fortnite. Bootsy Collins will host icon Radio, and it's anticipated that more artists affiliated with Fortnite's Icon Series will eventually be added.

This news comes about three months following Silk Sonic's Grammy-nominated debut album, An Evening with Silk Sonic. Many fans considered the album a success, and it was led by the single "Leave The Door Open."
It's also worth pointing out that this Fortnite announcement comes as Silk Sonic is gearing up to launch a Las Vegas residency. The residency is scheduled to kick off on Feb. 25, and it will wrap on Apr. 2—just one day ahead of the 2023 Grammy Awards.
"THE TERMS ARE LOCKED, AND VEGAS MAY NEVER BE THE SAME JACK!! YOU'RE INVITED TO THE HOTTEST SHOW IN SIN CITY! HIT THE LINK IN BIO AND GET YOUR TICKETS NOW" .Paak wrote on Instagram last month.
"It's happening! The sexiest party of the year! Them Silk Sonic Boyz are performing Live in Las Vegas," Mars added.
