Shanola Hampton and the cast of NBC’s upcoming drama Found are bringing to light the stories of missing people of color, stories they passionately talked about in the series’ exclusive first look on Shadow and Act

Hampton, the series lead, said Found is “the procedural you didn’t know you needed.” Not only does the series have twists and turns, but it highlights the fact that so many people of color, many of them children, go missing every day without news fanfare. The cast, including Kelli Williams, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Karan Oberoi, Brett Dalton, said how the cases of missing people of color is an “epidemic.”

The series follows Gabi Mosley, who is adamant about bringing home lost people because she was once lost herself. According to the series description:

In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. A public relations specialist, who was once herself one of those forgotten ones, and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own.

Found premieres on NBC Oct. 3 at 10/9c.
