Zoetrope

American Zoetrope, Francis Ford Coppola’s production company, has announced a call for entries for their annual screenplay contest.

Now in its fourteenth year, the competition is judged by Francis Ford Coppola himself, along with the American Zoetrope staff.

For the first time in the history of the contest, submissions are open to original one-hour television pilots, as well as feature-length films.

The contest winner receives a $5,000 cash prize, and the scripts of all the top ten finalists are sent to leading production companies and talent agencies for consideration. According to the company, previous finalists and winners have consistently received representation and launched careers in the film industry as a result of their participation in this contest.

Innovative storytellers with original voices whose work will contribute to the quality, diversity, and longevity of contemporary cinema, are sought.
