Freeform (formerly the ABC Family Network, now re-launched and rebranded) is looking for it next female star via an online only open talent search.

The network is looking for: an intelligent, independent, enigmatic actress between the ages of 18 and 23 for a potential talent holding deal and to appear in upcoming pilots. Both comedic and dramatic actresses are encouraged to audition. Young aspiring actresses of all ethnicities are encouraged to apply. Skimming Freeform’s currently programming lineup, it’s quite, shall we say, white. In fact, it doesn’t appear that there’s a single original scripted series on the network with a young non-white female lead. So this could very well be their attempt to jump on the diversity bandwagon… or maybe not.
