We’re in an age where many television networks are rebooting their old properties from the ’80s and  ’90s. However, those who grew up watching The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air shouldn’t hold their breath for a reboot anytime soon.

In an interview with Mario Lopez, former star Alfonso Ribeiro, who portrayed Will Smith’s preppy cousin, Carlton Banks, revealed the chances of a Fresh Prince reboot.

“I think it’s impossible with James Avery being gone,” Ribeiro said. “Do we really want to see Will and Carlton in their 40s and 50s?” James Avery, who played Banks matriarch Phillip Banks, passed away in 2013 from complications following open-heart surgery.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ran for six seasons for 1990 to 1996 and became one of NBC’s biggest hits. A ’90s cultural touchstone, it launched the careers of Will Smith, Tatyana Ali and Ribeiro, who in recent years, won Season 19 of Dancing with the Stars and became the host of America’s Funniest Videos.
