An all-star lineup of artists have been announced to appear as musical guests for season 2 of Luke Cage
Artists appearing in the new season of Marvel’s Luke Cage include Rakim (who contributes an original song), KRS-One, Ghostface Killah, Faith Evans, Jadakiss, Stephen Marley, Gary Clark Jr., Esperanza Spalding, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Joi and DJ D-Nice — “with a range of performances inside Harlem’s hottest nightclub, and den of Mariah Dillard’s nefarious deals, Harlem’s Paradise.” Returning to the series for season 2, musical composers Adrian Younge (Black Dynamite) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest created the score.
After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem, with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.
The series is executive produced by Cheo Hodari Coker (Ray Donovan, Southland) and Aïda Croal (The Returned, True Blood) as co-executive producer, along with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Punisher, Marvel’s Inhumans) and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Punisher, Marvel’s Inhumans).
It stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Theo Rossi as Shades, Gabrielle Dennis as Tilda Johnson and Mustafa Shakir as John McIver.
