The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t make it to the NBA Playoffs this postseason, but Ja Morant remains one of the league’s most talked-about players for all the wrong reasons. We’ve been here before with Morant.

A video from an Instagram Live surfaced online over the weekend where he was spotted brandishing a gun for a second time, in an incident eerily similar to one he found himself in earlier this year.

That event in March ultimately led to a suspension from the team and time spent in a counseling program, but it doesn’t seem the NBA point guard learned his lesson. Faced with this new viral video and left with no choice, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended Morant again, this time indefinitely.

As the situation develops in the public eye, everyone from Snoop Dogg to Fat Joe shares their opinions. At the same time, social media, especially Twitter, reacts with memes galore.

One meme, whose caption read “ja morant every month,” quickly went viral, garnering more than 3.5 million views since its Sunday posting. It featured a familiar (albeit younger) smiling teen proudly toting a large, blurred-out gun.

The teen in question was Memphis rapper GloRilla, who quickly caught wind of the wild pic of her others are using to mock Morant over his second gun incident.

Big Glo, who rose to prominence after releasing her song “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” last year, quote-tweeted the post with some laughing emoji.

“I was a menace in high school,” she wrote. “I’m so embarrassed.”

In related news, the 23-year-old rhymer is hanging with heavy hitters in the rap game as she grows in popularity. Signed to fellow Memphis native Yo Gotti’s CMG record label, Glo headlined the Anyways, Life’s Great Tour this past spring. In addition, “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” received a Grammy nomination for best rap performance.

She is one of many hip-hop acts, including headliner Kendrick Lamar, Coi Leray, Lil Yachty, Little Simz and singer Kali Uchis, slated to perform at the Austin City Limits 2023 festival later this year.

The “Blessed” MC will also appear on Lil Baby’s upcoming It’s Only Us Tour, along with The Kid Laroi.

The Grammy-nominated artist didn’t address the Morant situation directly, instead jokingly commenting on the past time. That said, other rappers aren’t staying silent.

Snoop Dogg shared a gallery of memes comically addressing things like Morant’s agent’s reaction to the video.

In a more serious take, Fat Joe addressed Morant directly, encouraging the Memphis Grizzlies player to reconsider his actions and the people he associates himself with.

Other players are even commenting on the situation, as seen by a nine-minute YouTube video by former NBA player Kwame Brown on Sunday.

“I’ve heard of NBA YoungBoy, but you NBA DumbBoy because you got to be the dumbest motherf**ker in the league,” the 41-year-old said. “You got $231 million promised to you, and you wanna be a f**kin’ thug?”

Ja Morant finally broke his silence on Tuesday night.

“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey, and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself,” he said in his apology statement.

Only time will tell if his actions truly reflect his words.
