OWN has officially announced season 3 of Greenleaf will have its two-night premiere on August 28 and August 29. Guest stars include Beau Bridges (Homeland), Iyanla Vanzant (OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life) and Patti LaBelle.

Bridges will play Bob Whitmore, “the folksy and charming founder of Harmony of Hope Ministries–a massive denomination with churches all over the world–who will use any unsavory tool at his disposal to win.” Vanzant will play herself, helping Charity (Deborah Joy Winans) find her place within the Greenleaf family. LaBelle will play Maxine Patterson, “a famous Christian motivational speaker and the CEO of a global Christian self-help empire; an old friend of Lady Mae’s (Lynn Whitfield) from college days, Maxine will be Lady Mae’s sounding board and greatest ally as Lady Mae attempts to consolidate her power at Calvary.”

In the third season of Greenleaf, “all the turbulent forces that Grace’s (Merle Dandridge) return to Memphis unleashed threaten to destroy not just the church her family built, but the family itself.” One of last seasons shockers included the reveal of Bishop’s (Keith David) infidelities with Lady Mae’s (Lynn Whitfield) sister Mavis (Oprah Winfrey) and the further consequences from his current extramarital affair with Rochelle Cross (LeToya Luckett). Through Lady Mae’s friendship with Maxine Patterson, she will attempt to become the head pastor of her megachurch after her rift with her husband. Greenleaf also stars Lamman Rucker, Kim Hawthorne, Lovie Simone, Desiree Ross, Tye White and Rick Fox.
