Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page, stars of Universal’s new film, You, Me & Tuscany, go behind the scenes of the rom-com in a preview exclusive to Blavity’s Shadow and Act.

In the below featurette, Bailey, Page and director Kat Coiro speak on filming in Italy, with Page mentioning that the “romance happens between us, but also the landscape.” Producer Will Packer also called the background unmatched and said it became an additional character.

In a recent interview with Blavity’s Shadow and Act, Bailey, Page, Coiro and Packer also spoke to us about the film, with Bailey saying of her character: “I felt like I could relate so much to Anna’s character about finding her way, going through her ups and downs and her journey. She’s very impulsive, she’s very smart, very fiery, and is a doer; she’s just gonna do it. I could see pieces of myself in her.”

Here’s the film’s official description:

Halle Bailey as Anna, a young woman who has abandoned her dreams of becoming a chef and is now drifting through her twenties with a series of bad choices. When Anna loses her house-sitting job (and housing) in one fell swoop, a chance encounter with Matteo—a handsome Italian who happens to have a villa sitting empty in Tuscany—will inspire her to jet off for Italy, against the advice of her always-honest bestie, Claire (Scott).

But Anna’s plan to crash at Matteo’s villa, without permission, just for one night, falls apart when Matteo’s mother, Gabriella (Ferrari) shows up at the house unexpectedly. In a panic, Anna allows Gabriella to believe that she is Matteo’s fiancée. That little lie becomes a big problem, though, when Matteo’s cousin, Michael (Page) shows up, and Anna discovers that the heat between them may ignite a fire that will transform her life.
