Comedy has often served as an outlet to unpack, unfurl and discuss social and political issues. For Howard University alum Hari Williams, his show Unpacked hones in on this idea. Executive produced by Bentley Kyle Evans, Unpacked will present a healthy dose of comedy and commentary for the culture.
Using a razor-sharp satirical scalpel, Unpacked will feature four main segments that carve through the American cultural landscape and showcase the healing power of laughter. Each episode will contain a 2-3 comedic monologue highlighting current events, a pre-taped satirical sketch for the live audience, a diverse guest panel that will dive deep into discussion on the themes and narratives in the sketch and several questions from the live audience. Some of the themes that will be discussed include police brutality, supporting Black-owned businesses, the domestic travel ban, and the role that white Jesus imagery has in shaping spiritual identity in the Black community.
