Emphasis on the word "tease" because the trailer gives you just tiny bits and pieces of each upcoming new series and movies, as well as highlights of last season’s programming, all squeezed into a 3-minute compilation. Blink and you’ll miss each one. So don’t expect much here. But I thought it was worth sharing, if only to get you excited early for what’s coming – especially for Issa Rae’s series, which we’ve all been rooting for. It’s good to actually see that it is indeed part of HBO’s 2016 lineup; as well as the Anita Hill/Clarence Thomas telepic, "Confirmation," starring Kerry Washington and Wendell Pierce (directed by Rick Famuyiwa).
There’s even a glimpse of Anthony Mackie as MLK in "All The Way" (above), HBO’s adaptation of the Tony-winning Robert Schenkkan play, which covers LBJ (Cranston), from the moment the assassination of John F. Kennedy made Johnson the 36th president of the United States, through a turbulent first year that included the passage of Civil Rights legislation in Congress, up to his landslide re-election victory (Aisha Hinds and Mo McRae are also part of the cast, playing Fannie Lou Hamer and Stokely Carmichael).
Audra McDonald’s "Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill" is also teased.
Watch the highlight reel below (the "Coming Soon" section starts around the 1:45 mark):
