Filming commenced today on “Den of Thieves,” an action thriller described to be in the tradition of “Heat” and “The Town”.
The story: Every day, $120 million in cash is taken out of circulation and destroyed by the Federal Reserve. An elite crew of bank robbers sets out to pull off the ultimate heist and get to the money first, right under the noses of Los Angeles’ most feared division of law enforcement.
“Den of Thieves” represents the directorial debut of Christian Gudegast who is helming from his original screenplay based on a story by Gudegast and Paul Scheuring (“Prison Break: The Final Break”, “A Man Apart”).
Starring in “Den of Thieves” are Gerard Butler, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson, Jr., Evan Jones, Cooper Anderson, Maurice Compte, Kaiwai Lyman-Mersereau, Mo McRae, Meadow Williams and Brian Van Holt.
Producing are Mark Canton (“300”, “300: Rise of an Empire”, “Immortals”), Tucker Tooley (“We’re The Millers”, “The Fighter”), Gerard Butler (“Olympus Has Fallen”, “How to Train Your Dragon”, “300”) and Alan Siegel (“London Has Fallen”, “Olympus Has Fallen”), long-time partners in their production company, G-BASE.

The film is being financed by Diamond Film Productions. STX Entertainment is co-financing and distributing the film worldwide.
