We’re 9 days away from the beginning of another month (June) – a time when Netflix typically reveals its usual monthly streaming library edits. So if any of the below listed movies and/or TV series coming to the streaming platform are of interest to you, make note of them now.
Titles that may be of interest to readers of this blog include, “Naz & Maalik” (2 closeted Muslim teens living in Brooklyn struggle to come clean about their sexuality); “Poverty, Inc.” (a documentary investigation into the complex global industry of foreign aid); “Being Mary Jane: Season 3” (of course you’re familiar with the hit BET original scripted drama series starring Gabrielle Union); “Cronies” (a Sundance 2015 selection executive produced by Spike Lee, which follows 3 Midwestern young men on a hot, marijuana-filled summer day); “(T)ERRO (the first documentary to place filmmakers on the ground during an active FBI counterterrorism sting operation, as seen through the perspective of “Shariff,” a 63-year-old Black revolutionary turned informant); Second Coming (A wife and mother, who was told she could not conceive a second child, contemplates her choices after an unexpected pregnancy.)
