It’s that time of the month again when Netflix releases its list of films and TV series that will be coming to and leaving the premiere SVOD service during the following month. In this case, that month will be January.

If any of the below titles are of interest to you, add them to your watchlists/calendars, noting when they are expected to arrive or exit.

As far as original content with Black talent, the biggest release we are looking at is the debut of the Netflix original film, Lionheart, which is their first Nigerian original film. It stars Nollywood superstar Genevieve Nnaji.  The British series, Black Earth Rising, starring Michaela Coel in a co-prodution between BBC and Netflix, is also set for a debut, as well as Part 2 of the fourth season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The new season of Friends From College will also premiere. Outside of originals, American Gangster will also arrive on the streaming giant in January, as well as the recently-released Solo: A Star Wars Story, which stars Donald Glover and Thandie Newton.
