Zoë Kravitz has been cast as the lead in a TV reboot of the film High Fidelity for Disney’s upcoming streaming service. Kravitz will play the role originated by John Cusack. In the original film, Cusack plays Rob, the owner of a record store who makes a list about his five biggest relationship breakups. Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet, co-starred in the 2000 film.
The series has a 10-epiosde order and “is described as a reimagining of the film and book and told from the female point of view.” Kravitz will also executive produce with series creators Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka as well as Josh Appelbaum of Midnight Radio, Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinker and Andre Nemec. Disney’s streaming service is set to launch in 2019.
Kravitz’s latest projects include Kin, Big Little Lies, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Viena and the Fantomes. She also voiced Catwoman in The Lego Batman Movie.
