The 5th Annual Hip Hop Film Festival will honor Ice Cube and Omari Hardwick as two Black content creators shaping the culture.

Ice Cube will be given the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) Award for his legacy as a rapper, actor, director, writer and producer. Hardwick, best known for his role in Power, will receive the Icon Living Award for his career contributions.

The awards ceremony is part of a four-night event starting Aug. 6 through Aug. 9. Over 200 international filmmakers will present their works and vie for the BEST of the FEST awards spanning over 21 categories including Best Web Series, Best Documentary and Best Feature.

The invite-only event will also feature Master Cyphers–masterclasses for attendees–virtual DJ battles, and more to help content creators excel in their craft.

Pass holders will be able to stream films screening at the event via 247Live! Theatre, while REVOLT Networks recently showcased filmmakers’ content July 24 on their highest-rated program, Short & Fresh.

“We rock on any block regardless of what’s going on in the world and have always represented the culture. We offer year-round programming for filmmakers and I’m excited to offer more resources to more filmmakers through this year’s festival,” said Hip Hop Film Festival’s Founder C R Capers in a statement.

The filmmaker winning this year’s Best Festival award will receive a meeting with NBC Universal for the opportunity to direct a national TV episodic. The Best Web Series winner will receive an acquisition meeting with BET Networks and Best Feature Documentary and Best Short winners will receive acquisition and licensing meetings from REVOLT. Actor Theo Rossi (Marvel’s Luke Cage) will give the winner of the ACT UP! Screenwriter’s competition an acquisition meeting with his DosDudes production company and direct entry into the BIG Break competition hosted by screenwriting software Final Draft.

Through its sponsors and partnerships, the Hip Hop Film Festival will award prizes that help festival winners to finance and distribute their content. This year’s Best Festival winner receives a meeting with NBC Universal for the opportunity to direct a national television episodic. The winner of the Best Web Series competition receives an acquisition meeting with BET Networks. Revolt Networks is offering acquisition and licensing meetings for the Best Feature Documentary and Best Short winners. The winner of the ACT UP! Screenwriter’s competition will receive an acquisition meeting with Theo Rossi’s production company DosDudes and direct entry into Final Draft’s BIG Break competition.
