I know I’ve been going on and on about Laurel being a bad friend, but can we all agree that tonight’s episode of How to get Away with Murder solidified my thoughts?

This episode, “Stay Strong, Mama,” gets to a running start, finding Annalise deep in a therapy session. During cutaways, her therapist, Isaac, also seems to be in a session of his own, with a random lady. This is not surprising; he’s been on edge since episode one. At the advice of his counselor, Isaac suggests to Annalise to write a letter to her deceased husband, Sam. He sees it as helping her get through all the built-up pain. Later in the episode, she attempts the assignment and struggles, eventually giving up. But it’s OK that she never pens the note. Issac’s goal was simply to open the door for Annalise to talk about the baby that she lost. Mission accomplished.

Isaac cares so much about Annalise’s loss of her child, because he also lost a child (who was much older) with (surprise) the woman who was acting as his therapist. It’s actually his ex-wife.

I personally find Issac to be very unprofessional. He’s mixing a lot of his personal into Annalise’s session. I would be pissed if my therapist did that. I once had a therapist and I know from that experience that it’s a balancing act of a service. Isaac is crossing the line.

In her work life, Annalise is pushing forward with her class action suit. One of the few inmates that decided to stick around with her, Claudia, has her teenage son, Tyrone (who is a f*cking BOSS), to work with Annalise to save their home. Shady D.A. Denver is attempting to put a wrench in Annalise’s plans by messing with Claudia. Of course Annalise shuts the mess down.

By way of an idea Connor gets (he’s still working with her, as well as double-dipping ice cream out of the same carton), she holds a press conference with Tyrone speaking about how the city is attempting to take away his house. Many people catch the tea on TV, and Claudia’s son keeps a roof over his head.

Bonnie is specifically behind a lot of that mess. Sis wants to take Annalise all the way down, and honestly, I’m not mad at her. It’s time she worked her muscle.

Now, let’s explore part six of “How Laurel is a Terrible Friend.”

Michaela is at work on pins and needles wondering if her idol Teagan has found out that her and Oliver broke into her computer. Well, she hasn’t, but a bigger revelation takes place at the prestigious law firm: Laurel’s father comes for a visit. Michaela and Oliver spot him there and hide while they call Laurel, giving her the play-by-play. While that’s going on, Laurel’s dad gives her a ring, suggesting dinner while he’s in town.

The whole thing is a mess, but Asher provides two crucial moments in the midst of it all. He first confronts Michaela about her lying, and she lies again, telling Asher that she was at Laurel/Wes’ place because she’s now her terrible friend’s lamaze coach. This prompts Asher to present a bear to Laurel as a baby gift. Unbeknownst to Laurel, the teddy has a camera inside, which records a incriminating conversation between her, Michaela and Oliver.

At the dinner Laurel has with her dad — who still thinks she’s in law school and not pregnant — he offers his daughter 10 percent of his company that is going public. He explains that the mere portion will make her, her kids and their kids very wealthy. Laurel takes the deal to Michaela and Oliver to discuss. Oliver tells the ladies that a new, very secure computer system has been installed, and the only way to hack into it is by stealing Teagan’s badge. But there’s no reason to continue the mess anyway because they now know Laurel’s father was working with the law firm to simply make his company’s deal happen, which in return will make Teagan rich enough to open up her own law firm, providing a great job for Michaela. The end, right? Not so fast.

Laurel goes on to explain that her dad had to kill Wes in order to make the deal happen. Long story, but if Wes didn’t die, the remaining Keating Four would have all went down for their previous crimes. Specifically, Laurel would’ve been a criminal, and it would’ve kept people from doing business with her father.

So, if they continued with their attempt to take Mr. Castillo down, Laurel, Michaela and Oliver would all have something to individually gain, lose or risk. In a classic terrible friend move, Laurel guilt trips Michaela and Oliver into continuing on with the risky plan. They have to do it for Wes! (rolls eyes)

The episode ends by fast-forwarding a week into the future. Adding another piece to the missing baby/two possible murders mystery, Annalise is laying fully clothed in a shower letting the water wash blood off her suit. Did she kill someone?

Last week’s teaser promised that “all would be revealed.” That was definitely not the case, but we’re getting closer to all the pieces of the puzzle coming together. Personally, I cannot wait until we discover that Laurel’s baby daddy is actually Frank (who made an excellent score on his LSAT and is headed to law school). Homegirl needs to be brought down a notch, and that would definitely be the thing to do it.
