Showtime has announced that Naima Ramos-Chapman will direct the pilot for the upcoming Showtime comedy How to Make Love to a Black Woman (Who May Be Working Through Some Sh*t).

Chapman’s credits include serving as a writer and director for the acclaimed HBO show Random Acts Of Flyness.

Executive produced by Lena Waithe, the half-hour comedy anthology series was written by Casallina “Cathy” Kisakye and will feature themes of connection and rejection. The pilot for How To Make Love To A Black Woman begins production next month.

Here’s the description: With each multi-part episode, ‘How to Make Love to a Black Woman’ unfolds a new collection of characters in an authentic world, telling stories about connection and rejection that explore our most harrowing – and harrowingly comic – sexual secrets.

This is just among the many projects for Waithe. The multitalented writer and actress recently partnered with ATTN: for a scripted series on female adolescence called Girls Room, set to premiere in early 2020. In addition to Girls Room, Waithe has also written the highly anticipated crime drama Queen and Slim, set to premiere in theaters in November.

Deadline first reported this news.
