Hulu is recreating ABC's TGIF lineup, including 'Hangin' with Mr. Cooper' and 'Family Matters'

Another day, another win for streaming services.

Hulu has acquired the rights to all of the shows from ABC’s classic “TGIF” lineup including Full House, Family Matters, Step By Step, Perfect Strangers and Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.

That’s right. You’ll be able to see some of your favorite shows from back in the day on Hulu!

They plan to promote the shows as a block and appeal to both younger audiences as well as the “TGIF” generation.

Apparently, Hulu has been trying to get the licensing for them for a few years.

“It’s hard to believe we’re talking about ‘Full House’ and ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ in the same sentence — but these are stories that stand out and serve different needs. Sometimes people are in the mood for something that is very new and challenging, and sometimes people want something comfortable. Our job is to have the shows that feed those experiences,” said Craig Erwich, Hulu’s senior VP of content.

The shows will become available on Hulu on September 29.
