Fans might be weeping today as the iCarly revival series has been cancelled after three seasons, according to Deadline.

No reason was given as to why the series was canceled, but a Paramount+ spokesperson gave a statement about the series’ end.

“The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together,” said the spokesperson to Deadline. “We want to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers along with the whole crew for their dedication, creativity and talent.”

So far, neither star Miranda Cosgrove nor the official iCarly X account have responded to the cancellation news on social media, but fans have been reacting online, saying that the series was canceled right as Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger decades in the making–Carly and Spencer finally meeting their mother.

The revival starred Cosgrove, who reprised her role as Carly, billed as the “original influencer” (and indeed, the character was playing off the growing buzz around YouTube and influencing when the original series came out in 2007). Other cast members include Laci Mosley (who weathered racist attacks from fans before the cast defended her in 2021), Nathan Kress, Jaidyn Triplett and Jerry Trainor. While the original series followed Carly and her friends (including Jennette McCurdy) as teenagers, the new series followed Carly’s life as an adult.
