Ice Spice has had one of the fastest rises to fame thanks to her music career. Since going viral with her single “Munch,” the Bronx rapper has had several titles included in the Billboard Hot 100 and has collaborated with some of the industry’s most prominent artists, such as Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.

From anonymous online critics to Matt Healey’s racist remarks toward her, Ice Spice has quickly become a topic of conversation. A young woman of color — Spice is 23 — has faced a wide array of criticism, including comments about her appearance.

On Monday, Ice Spice both stood up for herself and disabled individuals. Someone shared a side-by-side photograph of the rapper and a woman who appears to have Down syndrome, suggesting that the rapper has a genetic disorder.

“U thought u ate, but my sis cute asf,” Ice Spice tweeted back.

The original post has since been deleted.

Under the rapper’s tweet, fans supported her taking a stance against the online troll.

“You know you made it when you have people hating for no reason,” tweeted a fan.

“thx kira,” replied Ice Spice.

Months ago, some of her old tweets resurfaced. The practice is often used toward artists to cancel them; Ice Spice proved she has always been unproblematic.

Her fans have noted the humor in some of her past tweets and her standing up against racism.
